The Adult Department is part of the Social Administration, and our most important task is to ensure that our residents receive the help and support they need. We consist of 33 employees and are led by a department head and four group leaders responsible for different areas. We are a close-knit and stable workgroup of various ages who value having fun together and believe it is important to help each other.

We are located in Mörby Centrum, 14 minutes by subway from T-Centralen. Our office has modern facilities with good technology. There are also many small rooms for us to discuss matters or receive visitors. We also work from home as it suits the work.

We are now looking for a refugee coordinator who wants to be part of the housing and integration group where we care for each other and have fun. The group consists of a total of six people and a group leader. The housing group includes two housing secretaries and one housing coordinator. The integration group includes two integration caseworkers and one refugee coordinator.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a refugee coordinator, you will work on a project focusing on the municipality's preparedness and reception capacity for newcomers, funded by the County Administrative Board in Stockholm.

In this role, you will have a central function as a link between the municipality, the target group, and civil society organizations. Your mission is to promote social inclusion and create pathways to community and participation for newcomers in the municipality. A particular focus will be placed on the target groups of newly arrived youth and parental leave individuals.

You will, among other things:

• Support, guide, and accompany newcomers in finding various activities, events, and meeting places in the community.
• Establish and develop collaboration with civil society actors regarding the target group of newcomers.
• Build networks and create contacts that contribute to strengthening local engagement and community.
• Be responsible for matching newcomer households with established individuals, known as Welcome Guides.
• Coordinate activities and initiatives carried out by the project's collaboration partners within civil society.
• Actively work with follow-up during the project period.

The position is largely operational, and you will work closely with both individuals and organizations. Part of the work is scheduled for Thursday evenings, when you, as a refugee coordinator, will be on duty and coordinate the activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with civil society and knowledge of its conditions.
• Has previously worked with the target group of newcomers and/or asylum seekers and has good knowledge of the target group.
• Has good knowledge of Swedish society.
• Has at least a high school diploma.
• Has good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Has good computer skills and the ability to handle the Office package.

It is an advantage if you:

• Have previously worked with similar tasks in a municipal operation.
• Have experience working within Social Services.
• Have experience in project work/coordinating/outreach work.
• Speak more languages than Swedish and English.
