Your workplace

The ambulance service in Värmland is county-wide with ambulances located in twelve locations. We are a suitably sized and cohesive healthcare organization with short decision-making paths that allow you to see the big picture and have an impact.

For the summer of 2026, we are looking for new employees for the ambulance station in Årjäng. Summer positions may transition into permanent roles.

Job description

The ambulance service is challenged by the acute care of sick and injured individuals in many different environments. By assessing, referring, caring for, and transporting patients, we contribute to ensuring that the patient receives proper care at the appropriate level. Our goal is to always have a secure patient who knows the next part of the care chain.

Work will be performed both day and night.

Healthcare is based on our patients' needs and our employees' competencies. We aim to advance healthcare together with our staff. We work for a good work environment with stimulating tasks and an individually tailored onboarding process. All new employees undergo a 7-week introductory and position training.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a paramedic or a licensed nurse with at least 1 year of clinical experience. As a person, you are responsible and flexible with good teamwork skills. A B driver's license is required, as well as at least 3 years of driving experience. C1/C driver's license is an advantage.

Before potential employment, you will need to complete work tests and undergo an approved health check conducted by the region. Region Värmland promotes a drug-free work environment and applies mandatory drug testing for new hires.

On Tuesday, December 9, a full day will be held in Karlstad for interviews and work tests. If you are considered for the position, you will be invited to this day in a separate email. For this day, it is desirable that you bring proof that you can swim 200 meters.
