Your workplace

Within the operational area AnOpIVA, we include surgery, anesthesia, intensive care, sterile technical operations, recovery care, and Pain Center. About 420 employees work in Karlstad and Arvika. You will be employed on a rotational basis, which includes day, evening, and night shifts. The surgical department has 20 operating rooms. We perform both elective and emergency surgeries and operate around the clock. In total, we are about 150 employees.

You will work in a team with our operating room nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors, along with participative and present leadership.

Your tasks

As an anesthetist, you primarily work with tasks specific to your profession that cannot be performed by other professionals. You will work with orthopedics, surgery, gynecology, urology, and ear-nose-throat. If you are not in the operating room, you will sedate patients for MR, CT, or carry our emergency alarm seeker within the hospital.

Your work will vary with a well-planned elective flow and an acute flow where you will have to make quick decisions in a high-tech healthcare environment.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with specialized training in anesthesia nursing. Experience in anesthesia nursing is an advantage but not a requirement.

As a person, you are independent and dare to act according to your own convictions. You are also calm, stable, and controlled in stressful and pressured situations while maintaining focus on the right things. We also see that you can plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. In our work, collaboration is important, which requires that you enjoy working with other people. You also need to have clear communication with colleagues and patients, where you can listen and be receptive to what the other party communicates.
