Within the social care administration, about 1200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home care, disability services, social psychiatry, and individual and family care.

Disability services and social psychiatry is one of three departments within the social care administration. The department is responsible for LSS housing, daily activities, housing support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are about 250 employees who, with great commitment, work with the individual's needs at the center and based on a belief in the individual's own abilities. We work purposefully to ensure that our operations have high competence and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a companion or contact person, you will support an individual in their daily life, help with practical tasks, and contribute to their social life. You will create a safe and positive relationship by being a responsive and caring presence.

The assignment is based on regular meetings with the person you support, for example, once a week or month, depending on needs and agreement. It is not a traditional employment in the usual sense, but a meaningful assignment where you make a difference in someone's daily life.

Contact Person (Paid Assignment)

The role of a contact person means that you, with your presence and commitment, help to counteract isolation and loneliness. You meet the person in need of your help a certain number of times per month based on assistance decisions. Based on the person's needs, you will jointly decide what you want to do during your time together. You can meet up and go out, talk, bake, walk, watch movies, or come up with other activities. The most important thing is not the activities themselves but that you meet and socialize.

The idea behind the meetings is that the person you are a contact person for should receive support in breaking their isolation and loneliness and also be encouraged to participate in community activities. With you as support, they can feel safe having fun together with a friend and perhaps try new activities.

Companion (Hourly Employment)

As a companion, you will regularly meet a person with a disability who needs support and encouragement to participate in meaningful and stimulating leisure activities. Through your engagement, you contribute to the person being given the opportunity to participate in activities and create social contacts.

The assignment involves being a support in getting out, participating in community life, and promoting participation on equal terms. This may involve accompanying them to leisure, cultural, or sports activities, or supporting the person in maintaining contact with friends and acquaintances.

Your contribution as a companion is an important part of strengthening the individual's independence, participation, and quality of life.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is attentive, relationship-oriented, and observant in contact with other people. You have the ability to remain professional based on your assignment and work with a focus on the individual's needs and interests.

You should have a good ability to take initiative, as you take responsibility for planning and carrying out meetings and activities. It is important that you stay updated on what is happening in the city and what activities are offered to enable a rewarding leisure and community life.

Meritorious:

• Previous experience as a companion and/or contact person
• Work experience within LSS and/or SoL
• B driver's license

A personal disability within NPF is not a barrier, and we welcome individuals with different personalities.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and approach, and you should be prepared to work in your assignment for at least six months.
