Do you want to build technology that makes a real difference? At TrackPaw, you will develop embedded systems from schematic to finished product – through prototype, evaluation, and firmware – in a small team where you will have both responsibility and freedom.

About TrackPaw

We are developing something unique – a system that allows detailed tracking of research animals without disturbing them. Our solution works like a smartwatch for animals, where weight sensors and RFID readers collect data that helps researchers understand behaviors and improve animal health. Here, hardware, software, biology, and data meet – and that’s the mix we love!

The Role

As an engineer with us, you will work with the entire chain – from low-level code on STM32 to how circuit boards and sensors work in reality. You will play a central role in developing, testing, and improving the technology our customers use every day.

Examples of tasks:

  • Develop and maintain firmware in C for Zephyr – drivers, data collection, communication with the cloud platform, etc.
  • Design prototype PCBs in KiCad (schematic and layout).
  • Integrate and verify sensors and electronics (e.g., power sensors, ADCs, RFID readers).
  • Perform measurements and analyses to improve performance, e.g., noise, drift, and linearity, and translate results into concrete improvements.
  • Build and use tools in Python for testing, data collection, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with our electronics engineer in design reviews, component selection, and verification.

Who you are

You enjoy building, testing, and understanding how things really work – whether it’s about code, circuit boards, or measuring instruments. You thrive on switching between soldering iron, oscilloscope, and code editor, and you like solving problems with both your head and hands. You enjoy a fast-paced, helpful environment, with both great responsibility and great freedom.

You have a technical education background, e.g., in electrical engineering or computer engineering, and you want to work broadly with electronics and embedded systems. Extensive experience is not a must; what matters more is that you are curious, self-driven, and used to figuring things out on your own.

We believe that you:

  • Write C for embedded systems (preferably with Zephyr or similar RTOS).
  • Have worked with schematics/layout and can take a board to manufacturing.
  • Have tested, measured, or debugged electronics in a lab environment.
  • Use Python or similar for testing, analysis, and automation.
  • Communicate clearly and enjoy collaboration in small teams.

Do you have your own tech project alongside your studies or job? Please share – we appreciate initiative!

What we offer

With us, you can combine technical depth with real societal benefit. We are currently seven people – founders, electronics, mechanics, software, and algorithm developers – and we are growing. With 25 million SEK in new funding, we are ready to take the next step.

  • Freedom, responsibility, and influence over product and technology.
  • Opportunity to grow both technically and personally.
  • Competitive salary, options, and great benefits.

Do you want to help create the research tools of the future – and contribute to faster and better development of new medicines? Get in touch, we’d love to talk to you! Selection is ongoing, and we will close the recruitment when we find the right person! Questions can be directed to Jenny Månsson at Radeptus, 0703-318506.
