As Hässleholm Municipality implements a new analytics support system, we are looking to strengthen the IT department's digitalization unit with a professional who can help us advance our work with data and analysis. Are you our new Data Analyst?

What we offer

As a Data Analyst within the IT department, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and ensuring the quality of the municipality's data warehouse, as well as strengthening the organization's ability to make data available for analysis. The role includes developing reports and dashboards in Power BI, supporting various municipal operations in data-driven workflows, and the technical and strategic development of the municipality's analytics platform.

Examples of tasks include:

Data Platform and Data Warehouse

• Manage, further develop, and document the municipality's data warehouse
• Ensure quality, structure, and availability in data models
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT flows (e.g., via SQL, Azure Data Factory, or similar)
• Work with integrations between source systems and the data warehouse

Data Analysis and Visualization

• Develop interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI
• Model data in Power BI in a robust and scalable manner
• Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), follow-up structures, and operationally relevant analyses

Support and Collaboration with Operations

• Act as an advisor and competence support on analysis issues for various departments
• Support operations in understanding and using data as a basis for decision-making
• Identify needs and translate them into technical solutions

Strategic Development Work

• Contribute to establishing the municipality's data-driven working methods
• Initiate and drive development projects related to the data and BI area
• Work with information security, data quality, and regulatory compliance (including GDPR)

The position is a permanent employment with a start date as soon as possible or by agreement.

Who you are

To be considered for the position, you must have an academic education in data and system science, statistics, informatics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent experience deemed comparable.

We also require documented experience in data analysis, data warehousing, or BI development, with strong skills in SQL, Power BI, and working with data security, metadata documentation, and data quality.

You thrive in a role where collaboration is central, contributing with good teamwork skills, clear verbal communication, and a service-oriented approach towards both colleagues and stakeholders.

You are a person who takes responsibility, shows good judgment, and creates clarity in your deliveries. Your holistic view allows you to understand and analyze the organization's needs from both strategic and operational perspectives.

The role also requires strong analytical skills, where you, with high quality awareness, deep specialist knowledge, and good problem-solving analytical ability, can transform complex data into valuable and actionable insights.

It is an asset if you have experience working in the public sector and knowledge of Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, Lakehouse).

We would appreciate it if you have experience establishing data-driven structures and workflows from the ground up, as we are still in the early stages of our journey towards a more data-driven working method.

Programming skills such as Python, R, or .Net are also considered assets for the position.

About Us

The Municipal Administration leads, coordinates, and develops Hässleholm Municipality's operations and supports the municipal council in strategic issues. The administration works closely with the political leadership and is responsible for overarching issues within areas such as community planning, economy, HR, communication, and business development.

The IT department is responsible for the operation and development of the municipality's internal IT environment, such as infrastructure, server environment, department-specific operational systems, telephony, internet, and email. We are also responsible for the municipality's e-service portal and the development and implementation of e-services. Based on the digital strategy, we drive the digitalization work in the municipality.
