What does the job of a care assistant with team leader responsibilities at Norlandia Elderly Care entail?

As a care assistant, you are responsible for providing residents with good care and high-quality support in accordance with what has been agreed upon with residents in the implementation plan. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in the elderly, where your main tasks are to design a safe and secure personal care and support. You support the resident in their daily life and create conditions for a safe and meaningful everyday life.

We are currently looking for two confident care assistants who are ready to take on greater responsibility and want to influence the care and support we offer our elderly. This is a combined position, where you will work as a care assistant with a team leader assignment for about 50% of your working time, the team leader assignment is limited to 1 year but with good chances of extension. 

As a team leader, you are a key person in the daily work. You work closely with the operations manager and colleagues to ensure that care is of high quality and that the workgroup functions well. You lead, support, and motivate employees in the operational work and are an important link between staff and management.

The team leader assignment includes, among other things:

• Coordinating daily work and staffing
• Being a support in the workgroup and contributing to good communication
• Following up on routines and quality in care
• Participating in development work and improvement initiatives
• Being involved in the introduction of new employees

About Kvarnåsen Elderly Home

Kvarnåsen is located in Årjäng municipality in Värmland County, close to the Norwegian border. Kvarnåsen is centrally located in the community, close to the bus station, and we are only 120 km from Oslo with good bus connections. Årjäng offers rich natural life with several lakes for fishing and beautiful nature reserves with many hiking trails.

Kvarnåsen has 92 apartments distributed over nine units. We offer dementia care, psychogeriatric care, and somatic care. Each unit has a kitchen, dining/living room, and the possibility for outdoor activities. In the Pelarsalen, there is a meeting place where our activity coordinator organizes activities based on requests. Here we celebrate birthdays, traditions, and organize various festivities – all to ensure that the elderly experience a Good Life – every day. Meals are prepared by the chefs in the municipality's restaurant kitchen located in the building.

• You need to have proof of the right to use the job title care assistant from the National Board of Health and Welfare
• You need to have previous experience in care and support
• You need to have good documentation skills
• You need to have experience working as a contact person in elderly care
• You must have a good command of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
• We prefer that you have good computer skills/computer familiarity
• We want you to have good knowledge of the national quality registers relevant to the operations
• It is an advantage if you have experience working in Medvind and Visma HR Plus 8
• It is advantageous if you have experience working with follow-up and quality work

Other information

Employment form: 2 permanent positions as care assistants with a team leader assignment.

Scope: 100% or as agreed, irregular working hours. 37h/week.

Start date: As agreed

Probationary period: we apply a 6-month probationary period

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Before a possible employment, you must be able to present an extract from the criminal record. You must also be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden by showing that you have citizenship within the EU/EES or a valid work permit.
