District Veterinarian for Kristinehamn
Are you ready to work in a community-supporting organization? Do you primarily want to work with varied equine practice but also develop within other animal species?
To ensure that all animals in Sweden have the conditions to live as good a life as possible, there are the District Veterinarians. With around-the-clock readiness, clinics across the country, and unique knowledge of animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a safer life. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of private individuals, companies, and authorities. We offer community-supporting services for emergency veterinary care, infection control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place. The District Veterinarians are part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our practice at the District Veterinarians in Kristinehamn is mixed, and we strive to plan booked days based on both customer needs and veterinarians' areas of expertise.
We are now looking for a veterinarian who wants to work with a varied equine practice and preferably has a particular interest in equine dentistry. We have complete dental equipment and also the ability to X-ray teeth in the field. There are good opportunities for internal training if you have the right interest. If you have an interest in orthopedics and hooves or experience in objective motion analysis, that is also meritorious as we have demand for this. Our mixed practice also includes travel to all types of livestock, but the focus in the field is on equine practice. We have a well-functioning relatively newly built small animal clinic, so a certain interest in small animals is also meritorious. The position includes on-call duty for acute illness cases, where normally five people are in a team sharing the on-call duty. During on-call duty, you will have the opportunity to meet many interesting cases and truly make a difference for both the animals and the people around them in all stages of life. We have good routines to ensure your recovery after on-call duty.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a licensed veterinarian and wants to work with sound veterinary care in a larger context. You:
- Enjoy developing and tackle both small and large challenges with joy.
- Are a team player who puts the team before yourself and sees the value in that we can help more together.
- Have a service-oriented approach and communicate simply and clearly with our animal owners.
Since on-call duty is a natural part of the position, you need to want to develop in your professional role and maintain competence in several animal species. We offer good opportunities for internal professional development and have a horse working group to ensure development and quality in care.
You who apply have a veterinary degree and Swedish veterinary license. Experience working with horses and mixed practice is meritorious. A B driver's license is required.
We believe in the future and know that it is our joint work that shapes the clinic. Therefore, we place great importance on: Good collaboration skills, loyalty to colleagues and employers, and personal suitability. We require good judgment and that you dare to ask for help when needed. You do not need to know everything; it is enough that you are curious, engaged, and motivated to acquire new knowledge.
Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the application period, so if you think that the variation of working with equine practice in combination with being a district veterinarian seems appealing - do not hesitate to send in your application to us today!
OTHER
We care about our staff. Therefore, we give all employees within the District Veterinarians the opportunity to take part in various benefits. Some examples are 28-35 days of vacation depending on your age, salary exchange, wellness benefits, and occupational health care. For you as a parent, we have good conditions to find a good balance between work and family life, we offer, among other things, parental benefit supplements and the opportunity to reduce your working hours until the child is twelve years old.
We strive for diversity among our employees.
Our working language is Swedish, and our services require that you master Swedish in both speech and writing.
We normally apply a 6-month probationary period.
