Nursing Assistant for Department 59 - Neurology and Rehabilitation
Do you want to be part of an engaged team in an important unit within neurology and rehabilitation? At Department 59, you will have the opportunity to work with both experienced colleagues and newly graduated students, where you can develop and contribute to improving care for stroke and TIA patients.
If you are a nursing assistant with a passion for care and want to be part of an innovative and welcoming work environment, then this job is for you!
Your Workplace
Department 59 is a stroke unit where we primarily care for patients who have suffered from stroke and TIA, transient ischemic attack. Expertise in stroke and TIA is present in the team consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dietitians, and neuropsychologists. The team collaborates on the acute phase, care, and rehabilitation.
The stroke unit is located in building 2 with fresh and purpose-built facilities. There is a great variety within the workgroup. Several of our employees have worked in the department for many years and have extensive experience in stroke care, while others are relatively new hires.
The department belongs to the neurology and rehabilitation clinic, a small clinic that has close proximity to managers and short decision-making paths. The clinic has its own emergency line, ensuring that patients with neurological issues can receive specialized assessment right at the emergency department. A 24/7 on-call service is also available by phone in case of questions regarding our most urgent treatments. During the spring and fall semesters, we often have students in the department, which we see as both exciting and educational.
The department is constantly working to improve care and care pathways for stroke and TIA patients, for example, with new treatment methods and digital solutions.
Your Responsibilities
As a nursing assistant, you will work based on a set program for actions after stroke and TIA to avoid and quickly address medical complications. Rehabilitation starts as soon as possible. Your main tasks will include care work, monitoring clinical parameters, sampling, and more. Technical aids such as a personal iPad with the Nova Board and Nova Ward applications are used to facilitate daily work and achieve high patient safety.
You will be offered individual onboarding and mentorship during your first year. Stroke competence training is planned within the first years in the department. We also encourage independent and relevant courses.
Your Skills and Competencies
We are looking for a trained nursing assistant who has care experience with stroke and TIA patients in inpatient care. You enjoy working in a team and want to develop the operations together with us.
It is important for us that you collaborate well with others and have a good attitude towards patients, relatives, and colleagues. You plan your work well and are not afraid to take initiative. To fit in with us, you are someone who easily adapts to changing circumstances and keeps the best interests of the entire operation in mind when making decisions and taking action.
Warm welcome to your application!
