In Gällivare Municipality, there are a total of 9 primary schools both in the central area and around our villages in the countryside. In Gällivare Municipality's primary school, in addition to qualified teachers, there are also lead teachers, special educators, special teachers, counselors, school nurses, class mentors, and student assistants/resources. In grades 1-6, there are also class mentors at our schools, and in the urban area, there are school hosts in grades 7-9. When starting a new position as a teacher within Gällivare Municipality, you will be offered guidance from an experienced teacher for 1 year, a mentor who will serve as support for you in your new position.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, you work with instruction. You prepare, plan, implement, and evaluate students' progress and your own teaching based on the curriculum. You work closely with guardians. Most educators also work as responsible mentors in a class.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching license. We also welcome applications from those who are about to finish or have started their teacher training for primary school! You should be responsible and have clear leadership in the classroom, as well as easily create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Engagement, solution focus, flexibility, innovative thinking, interest in and ability to collaborate are qualities that Gällivare Municipality's primary school values. We place great importance on personal suitability. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

A police record extract is a requirement - to be presented before employment.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time/part-time based on your preferences. We offer seasonal employment or vacation employment.
