We are now looking for circle leaders in music and watercolor painting for our disability rights activities at SV Lundabygden. This means that as a circle leader, you will meet participants with disabilities in elderly and dementia care as well as in daily activities in Lund municipality. Experience in the field of disability rights is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Your role is to lead a defined group activity within your area of expertise. The purpose is for participants to engage in a positive context, and your task is to present and lead the activity in an engaging manner.

We place great importance on personal suitability as it is essential to be attentive and inclusive. In addition to your knowledge in music or watercolor painting, you need to have the ability to create a safe environment and be able to meet and invite participants. We are looking for someone who lives in Lund and is seeking a limited and rewarding assignment. We will introduce and train you in the pedagogy of folk education together with other circle leaders.

The music circles focus on music that participants have memories of; sometimes the songs are chosen in dialogue with the participants, and sometimes you as the leader select the songs. Sometimes participants want to talk about the songs, sing along, or clap along, and sometimes they choose just to listen.

The watercolor circles mean that you as a leader teach the basics of watercolor painting to participants who have painted before but want guidance from an experienced leader. In dialogue with the participants, you will discuss what they want to learn about, for example, color theory, how to mix the right shade, or brush techniques.

Job Summary

A limited assignment for you who are an experienced leader in music or watercolor painting and live in Lund municipality. We place great importance on personal suitability and your ability to engage participants.

Your main tasks

• Lead the group to try the activity based on their own conditions and without performance pressure, with enthusiasm and attentiveness.

• Be responsible for the practical preparations for your activity and ensure that participants have the necessary equipment to carry it out.

Requirements

You need to be well acquainted with your subject, but we place great importance on personal suitability. You need to be able to spread your enthusiasm while also adapting your activity to the participants' wishes and conditions.

Meritorious

Circle leader training or equivalent pedagogical competence and experience is meritorious. Experience working with participants with disabilities or older participants is also advantageous.

Scope of the position

Hourly employment according to agreement, covering between 1-5 activity sessions of 1 hour per month. There may also be opportunities for assignments in other parts of our folk education activities.
