About Viljan Arken

Viljan Arken welcomes boys aged 16–21 years, according to SoL and LVU. We specialize in receiving youth with social and/or substance abuse issues. The young people who come to Arken may have placements that have previously failed, or this may be their first placement with us. 

Viljan Arken is located just outside Vårgårda, approximately 19 km from Alingsås, 27 km from Borås, and 65 km from Gothenburg.

We are now looking forward to welcoming a new colleague to us at Viljan! You will work full-time on a schedule with varying working hours such as days, evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call. The position is a permanent employment that starts with a 6-month probationary period. About the role of Social Pedagogue

A social pedagogue has, above all, a strong commitment and interest in the target group and sees opportunities in meeting people. As a social pedagogue, you work closely with individuals who are in various forms of challenging life situations. The role involves contributing to a safe and supportive environment where the individual receives tools for personal development, recovery, and social functioning. By planning and implementing interventions, both individually and in groups, you support clients in their daily lives and contribute to their long-term well-being.

As a social pedagogue, you are a key person who helps create a meaningful and developing everyday life for those you support. The role requires you to be attentive, patient, and have good communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Educated social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or equivalent education 
• Experience working with youth  
• Experience in working with substance abuse issues
• Knowledge of CBT-oriented treatment
• Proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Holds a B driver's license

Meritorious:

• Training in MI and low-arousal approaches
• Proficient in one or more methods such as A-CRA, rePulse, relapse prevention, and/or other evidence-based methods
