Working as an Obsolescence Engineer

Mainly, you will work with the client's delivery projects involving exciting technology in advanced systems. You will have contacts with both internal and external parties and participate in various networks and forums.

As an Obsolescence Engineer, you will be responsible for reporting to internal customer projects and our clients. You will collaborate with many of the different sections within the design department as well as with other stakeholders in our organization. The many points of contact and involvement in the entire product lifecycle make this position both flexible and stimulating.

The work as an Obsolescence Engineer mainly includes the following:

•  In collaboration with product and project management, customers, and other stakeholders, ensure that requirements for End of Life (EoL) and Obsolescence meet expected delivery
• Create, plan, and follow up on deliveries of EoL data in projects
• Provide support to electronics and mechanical designers
• Participate in quotation/costing work
• Be involved and proactive in improvement work related to Obsolescence Management and contribute to further developing our processes
• Develop and continuously maintain documentation for regular monitoring of items related to Obsolescence
• Compile documentation for decisions regarding End Of Life on components in our products

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a civil or university engineer or equivalent
• Has several years of experience as a component engineer or system engineer
• Has experience in product development within the electronics field
• Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, both written and spoken
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS is also considered an advantage

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where security classification is required, this may entail a requirement for Swedish citizenship
