In our street department, about 40 dedicated employees work together. Together, we are responsible for streets and roads, parks and forests, parking lots, and public spaces. We also provide internal services to other administrations, and we are located at Södra Fabriksgatan 20 in Oskarshamn. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for someone who wants to help take care of our streets and roads regarding operation and maintenance in the entire road environment. We are looking for a person who will primarily work with our water and sewage network where pipe laying and pipe welding are a significant part. Operating various machines and winter road maintenance are also important parts of our operations. The work is carried out both independently and together with other contractors. The Street Department includes units such as park maintenance and all other operations of our streets, where you may assist at certain times of the year in these areas as well. This may involve supporting what happens above the street, changing signs, repairing potholes, and laying paving stones, among other tasks. The work is based on a transparent and responsible service where you should be able to work completely independently with various tasks and also be part of different teams where there are other supervisors/managers leading projects.

The working hours are during the day, but from November to March, you will be part of the street department's winter preparedness where you will clear snow and combat slippery conditions with machinery, both during the day and in the evening/night. The workplace can be throughout the municipality, but we start from the Technical Office.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply have a high school education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in machine operation, construction, or water and sewage is a requirement.

We believe that you are a self-sufficient person but that you can and want to work together with others, used to juggling many tasks and prioritizing since work in the street environment can be event-driven. So no day is like the other.

Your positive attitude towards the world makes it easy for you to collaborate. Your personality reflects itself in terms of accuracy, trust, and service-mindedness. You perform your work efficiently and with quality awareness and can express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

To succeed in the role of contractor, it is a given for us that you have a transparent working method and a genuine interest in the profession with a willingness for new technology and development. Time reporting, map reading, and tasks are handled via various digital tools, which are constantly evolving together. Being genuinely curious about using digital aids is seen as a positive trait.

A B driver's license and wheel loader certificate are prerequisites for you to be able to take on the position and its associated tasks. Previous experience in water and sewage work, excavator competence, and chainsaw license are meritorious.
