We are currently looking for new team members who want to be part of our charter experience aboard our classic wooden boats from the 1940s

We are seeking creative and social individuals who want to enhance the experience on board our charter tours, primarily in central Karlstad. We believe you are someone who enjoys being seen and heard, loves meeting new people, being in the spotlight, and contributing to a positive atmosphere on board. Perhaps you have a background in culture and theater, or you are passionate about customer interaction and have a strong social drive.

Now you have the opportunity to work aboard our highly appreciated wooden boats that operate in several of the archipelago municipalities in northern Vänern. This year, we are recruiting a few individuals who will focus on our charter operations. The work has several different aspects, including taking care of and welcoming passengers on board, live guiding during the boat trip, interacting and socializing with guests, and ensuring they have a pleasant boat trip. It may also involve serving light snacks or drinks. At the same time, you are part of the safety crew on board along with the captain. Your focus is to create a pleasant trip for our passengers who have booked a charter experience with us. There is also room for you to influence and create our experience on board if you have fun ideas on how it could be done.

We can offer you a fantastic summer with Vänern and Klarälven as your workplace. As a boat host, you will be in the heart of Värmland aboard our beautiful wooden boats.

Based in Inre Hamn in Karlstad, your workplace will be the water in and around Karlstad and its surroundings. In addition to the role of boat host on charter, there is also the opportunity for you to work as a boat host within the regular boat bus service that operates as scheduled public transport.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is at least 18 years old
• Is social, outgoing, and preferably has a background in theater or similar
• Has knowledge of Karlstad historically and in the present
• Loves meeting people and always puts passengers first
• Can express themselves primarily in Swedish but can also communicate in English if needed
• Is service-minded and solution-focused
• Is not afraid to pitch in when needed
• Is a team player who always puts the experience in focus

Profile

As a person, you are responsible and driven. You are social, positive, enjoy working in a team, and meeting new people.

You are the face of the company and the first person our passengers meet when they come on board. You need to be approachable and able to answer questions and assist those traveling with us.

You are responsible for the experience on board, which also includes service, cleaning the boat, and ensuring it meets our standards. In close collaboration with the captain, you ensure that passengers have a safe and pleasant journey as you are part of the safety personnel.

It is important that you are attentive and have good collaboration and initiative skills since we are a small team. Therefore, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Meritorious

• Good local knowledge.
• A willingness to stand in front of an audience and handle unexpected events.
• Experience on the water is a plus but not a requirement

Employment Conditions

The employment is seasonal from June to August. Some work may occur in the pre- and post-season as needed. You are expected to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends as scheduled.
