About the department

The Department of Emergency and Cardiovascular Medicine (AKVM) provides care focused on managing adult patients with acute medical conditions. The unit consists of two medical emergency care departments (MAVA) that handle patients with greater monitoring needs, a general internal medicine department (AIM), and an outpatient clinic that receives patients with thromboembolic diseases, hypertension, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and other internal medical conditions at a specialist level.

We collaborate with the emergency department, intensive care, and nearby organ specialties, forming a care chain of high-quality care with the patient at the center. The patients we care for often have multiple medical problems simultaneously, which places high demands on us as the hospital's generalists.

Job responsibilities

Standard duties of a junior doctor in the emergency medical unit, including on-call duties in the emergency department. At night, you will serve as the primary on-call physician for medicine. The position is a temporary role for someone with a genuine interest in emergency medicine and the ambition to be employed as a resident physician in acute internal medicine.

About you

We are looking for someone who holds a Swedish medical license with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare by the time of employment and has an interest in specializing in acute internal medicine. Previous work in the relevant or related specialty is advantageous.

Interest in areas such as research, education/pedagogy, development, and innovation is also advantageous.

We place great importance on personal suitability and collaboration skills. You should be interested in participating in operational development and willing to take personal responsibility in various matters.

Conditions

Temporary position for 6 months with a view to residency in internal medicine.
