Specialist/Consultant Physician for Halland Hospital Oncology Department

Job Responsibilities

The oncology care is under constant development with new treatment methods.

The wide arsenal of treatment methods also requires continuing education for doctors and other staff to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

As a physician, your base placement will be either in Varberg or Halmstad, and some work may also occur in both locations. The oncology outpatient services in Halmstad and Varberg currently treat patients with urological cancer including prostate cancer, breast cancer, and gastrointestinal cancer.

The clinic is in an expansive phase, and you will have great opportunities to contribute your expertise and experience to the ongoing development of the department.

About the Workplace

The Oncology and Palliative Medicine Clinic at Halland Hospital is a clinic with three locations; Halmstad, Varberg, and Kungsbacka.

We are a clinic with two well-functioning treatment units that provide elective oncology outpatient care.

Within the clinic, there are also palliative consultation teams throughout the region.

The size of our hospital allows for short communication paths and close collaborations with other clinics. We also have ongoing cooperation with the university hospitals in the Västra Götaland region and Region Skåne, thus we are part of both RCC West and South.

As an employee, you have good opportunities to contribute to and influence the ongoing development of oncology in Halland. We are looking for someone with a focus on urological cancer and/or breast cancer.

Qualifications

You are a licensed physician with specialist competence in oncology. You also have good knowledge and experience working with urological cancer including prostate cancer and/or breast cancer. Research experience is also an advantage. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required.

Working with patients with cancer requires sensitivity, empathetic communication, and a strong curiosity for new knowledge. We also see that you are easy to collaborate with, flexible, and have an engaged, curious, and open approach. Personal suitability will be highly valued.
