Job Responsibilities

The Habiliteringen in Falkenberg-Varberg is one of three reception centers in Halland providing habilitative services to children, youth, and adults with various forms of disabilities. The department is divided into three teams: a children's team in Falkenberg, a children's team in Varberg, and an adult team serving both locations. The children's teams work with children aged 0-18 years, while the adult team works with adults aged 18 and above. The department has a wealth of collective experience and a desire for continuous development to meet the patients' needs in the best possible way. With us, you will receive individual orientation and be offered professional and team guidance, as well as participation in regular professional meetings.

The position is at the Children's Habilitation in Falkenberg where you will be placed.

About the Workplace

We work in a cross-professional team with the intention of seeing the person from a holistic perspective. Our work is based on participation and respect for people's inherent value and self-determination. It is a job with great breadth and variation, involving personal responsibility but also close collaboration with your team colleagues. The work takes place both on and off the unit. In addition to the speech therapist, the team consists of an occupational therapist, social worker, psychologist, nurse, physiotherapist, and special educator. The Children's Habilitation also includes a dietitian and a doctor.

At Habiliteringen, you will work with assessment, treatment, and follow-up of oral-motor difficulties, speech, language, and communication difficulties, as well as eating and swallowing difficulties. You will also conduct trials and prescriptions of communication aids. A significant part of the work involves providing information, education, and guidance to the patient's network, and to some extent, direct treatment with the patient. You will also make group interventions regarding AAC and diagnostic information. Regular joint consultations with other specialist clinics such as specialist dental care and Mun-H-Center occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed speech therapist. Experience in habilitation is an advantage. You should have knowledge and familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

To succeed and thrive in this role, we see that you have a pedagogical approach and can present and communicate information clearly and simply. You have experience and appreciate working both in teams and independently. If you have previous experience working with digital systems and programs and can easily adapt to them, we see it as an advantage.

You are open to changes and new ideas that contribute to improving the operations and also share your knowledge. You have a good ability to create positive relationships with patients and colleagues. For the position, it is important that you are proactive, flexible in your working methods, and have a good ability to collaborate. To ensure good and safe communication with colleagues, patients, relatives, etc., we require good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. A valid driver's license (B) is required as some visits occur outside the clinic. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
