Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you will always work in a team alongside doctors and nursing assistants regarding assessment, prioritization, and care of critically ill patients. Our largest patient groups are in medicine, surgery, and orthopedics. During on-call hours, we also have patients from smaller clinics such as ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and dentistry.

The work is characterized by variety and many educational tasks. Here, you will have the opportunity to work with care and treatment of the acutely ill patient in an exciting and active environment.

About 80 dedicated employees work at the Emergency Department, providing qualitative and professional care. We focus on what we value most: contributing to ensuring that our patients have the best possible conditions and care that always meets their needs. There are opportunities to grow your knowledge in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, infection, urology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gynecology, and pediatrics. You will also participate in continuous internal training and updates within our field of work.

About the Workplace

Halland Hospital includes the emergency hospitals in Halmstad and Varberg, and we also conduct planned operations in Kungsbacka and Falkenberg. We have about 3,500 employees working to provide the best possible care to the residents of Halland, offering specialist care with high quality and good accessibility. Our employees are key to Halland Hospital achieving very good results in many national measurements, and we work on continuous improvements.

We have a working time model at the emergency departments in Halland Hospital Halmstad and Varberg. The model, developed together with the Swedish Association of Health Professionals, means that nurses at the emergency departments work 32 hours per week for nine months of the year. During the three summer months, the working hours are 40 hours per week for day and evening work and 36 hours per week for those working in rotation. The reduced weekly working hours give you as a nurse more free time for recovery and reflection, creating conditions for a sustainable work environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in emergency care. To thrive with us, you need a solid commitment and interest in your profession, as well as a desire to continuously develop your skills.

We seek someone who is stable and able to remain calm in pressured situations. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and are flexible. You possess a strong empathetic ability and radiate humility and care towards patients and colleagues. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who plans and prioritizes their work in a structured manner. You have good collaboration skills and contribute to an open and pleasant work environment. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
