What does the position entail?

I am a 61-year-old man living in Upplands-Väsby with my family. I have a neurological disease and am looking for a personal assistant who can help me in my daily life. I use a wheelchair, so you will need to be my extended hands and legs. The tasks include everything from assistance during meals, hygiene, dressing/undressing, and household chores to enabling the assistance user to be a parent, spouse, work, engage in hobbies, socialize with friends, or travel. Therefore, your workplace will be wherever I am.

I go abroad for rehabilitation every year, and assistants are expected to accompany me on the trip.

I train for rehabilitation several times a week, and I need you as physical support. You need to be able to swim (join me in water aerobics) and be able to cycle with me.

The position is on an as-needed basis and during the absence of regular staff, and the working hours for this client are distributed across morning, day, and evening shifts, Mon-Sun. Scope: Extra/as needed. Number of positions: 1. Start date: By agreement. Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the positions will be filled as soon as possible.

About you -

Qualities I am looking for in applicants are that you are proactive, empathetic, and responsible. It is important that you can work independently. Previous experience as an assistant is also an advantage, as well as if you enjoy (and can or are willing to learn) cooking good food.

The most important thing is that there is personal chemistry between you as an applicant and the client. This may become decisive in the final selection.

• It is advantageous if you have experience working as a personal assistant or in healthcare and have an interest in cooking.

• Requirements are that you can swim, cycle, and have the opportunity to accompany on potential trips in the job.
