Social Worker for the Child, Youth and Family Investigation Unit

The City of Lidingö is investing in social services for children and youth. We are undertaking a development project to create better conditions for a modern, preventive, and accessible social service. As part of this, we have consolidated all authority functions and open care related to children and youth (0-20 years) into a dedicated area.

The Child, Youth and Family area consists of three units:

  • Reception and Family Support Unit
  • Child, Youth and Family Investigation Unit
  • Foster Care and Intervention Unit

We are now looking for a social worker for the Child, Youth and Family Investigation Unit, following a colleague who is leaving us for new challenges after a long time with us. The Child, Youth and Family area belongs to the Social Services Administration, one of our six administrations in the City of Lidingö. Approximately 800 employees work with us to support our residents in all phases of life. We work with individual and family care, social psychiatry, disability services, and elderly care. We always put the individual's needs at the center.

We offer close leadership and clear management with accessible managers and team leaders. Additionally, the area has access to its own legal advisor who provides support in legal matters, processes, and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main responsibilities will be to investigate the needs of children and youth for protection, support, and care. You will collaborate closely with the Reception and Family Support Unit and the Foster Care and Intervention Unit. The work requires internal collaboration with other units and administrations as well as external collaboration to provide coordinated support to the residents of Lidingö.

In the unit, we work inspired by Signs of Safety and Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a cornerstone of our approach. If necessary, we therefore offer basic training in these methods and approaches for new employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a social worker with previous experience in authority functions within the field of children and youth. You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing. Experience with Signs of Safety and knowledge of the BBIC investigation method are meritorious.

As a person, you find social work important and enjoyable. You take initiative, drive your work forward, and have a genuine commitment to creating change. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented and confident in your role.
