Software Engineer in Embedded Systems – Consulting Assignment at the Forefront of Technology

We are now looking for an experienced and curious software engineer in embedded systems for a long-term consulting assignment with a technology-intensive client in southern Stockholm. The assignment is placed in a development team working on advanced product development within electromechanical systems, where precision, performance, and innovation are at the center.

The client is in an exciting development phase and has an existing team with deep expertise in mechanics, electronics, and software. They are now looking for a colleague who can take strong technical responsibility within software development, where you will be an important cog in taking the product to the next level.

About the Role The assignment involves further developing an existing platform with a focus on embedded software – a task that requires both technical expertise and good system understanding. The work includes low-level programming in C, adapting software to hardware, and optimizing algorithms and communication interfaces. You will work closely with hardware developers, test engineers, and other specialists in a project team where everyone contributes to the whole. The role also includes verification, simulation, and testing, as well as some contact with subcontractors and end customers. An important part of the work involves documenting requirements and solutions to ensure quality and traceability throughout the development cycle. The work is largely independent but takes place in an environment with a high ceiling and strong team spirit.

Your Background We are looking for someone with several years of experience in embedded systems and programming in C. You have good knowledge of electronics and are used to reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and datasheets. Experience in controlling electromechanical systems, pneumatics, or communication protocols such as IO-Link or CAN is a plus. You have likely worked with platforms such as ESP32, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi, and thrive in the intersection between hardware and software. Your strength lies in the combination of practical sense and theoretical depth – you understand the system as a whole and are used to thinking in solutions. We prefer that you live in southern Stockholm with the ability to work on-site in Haninge when tasks require it. The assignment is primarily hybrid, but with flexibility depending on the project phase.
