Responsibilities and Tasks

The mission of the Payment Authority is to detect, prevent, and mitigate incorrect payments from welfare systems.

This is done, among other things, through data analysis and audits, through inter-agency cooperation, and by producing knowledge reports that contribute to society's ability to combat welfare crime through increased knowledge.

Within our agency, work with data and analysis is central. As a data analyst, you will actively work with data and data analysis in various phases. Depending on your background and previous experiences, you will work with more or less refined data and create value for our operations. You will work cross-functionally in one of our teams with the following responsibilities and tasks:

  • Work with analysis and refinement of data, development and maintenance of analytical models to identify incorrect payments, and data analysis for investigations.
  • Work with analysis and refinement of data, be responsible for the work of acquiring new data sources, data quality, and data definitions. Part of this will be to develop and implement processes for, e.g., data quality and traceability.

The position is located in the Department of Data Analysis and Auditing (DAG).

We are looking for someone who has

  • a university degree in informatics, statistics, computer science, or another education that we assess as relevant
  • documented experience in conducting data analysis using programming
  • at least 3 years of experience in formulating queries against larger datasets using SQL
  • several years of experience in assessing data quality and identifying possible applied analyses
  • several years of experience working with analysis and documentation of data
  • very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

It is meritorious if you also have

  • experience working in or with cross-functional teams
  • experience visualizing data and datasets
  • experience programming in Python
  • experience working with metadata tools
  • worked to identify or investigate welfare fraud

Desired Abilities and Skills

To succeed in this role, you are structured and goal- and result-oriented. You have good judgment and collaboration skills, you are pedagogical, and you have a well-developed problem-solving analytical ability.

The place of employment is in Stockholm. The agency is located in modern premises near Gullmarsplan. The position is classified in a security class which requires Swedish citizenship. The position is a permanent full-time employment. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period. You may be subject to military placement at the agency.
