Interim IT Operations Manager

We are currently seeking an interim IT Operations Manager for an exciting assignment with our client in the financial sector.

  • Scope: Full-time 100%
  • Start: As soon as possible
  • Duration: 6 months, possibly longer (during a recruitment process)
  • The assignment may lead to a permanent position with the client.

Remote work is possible by agreement with the ordering client. However, presence in the office will be required, e.g., 60/40.

About the Position

Our client, operating in the financial industry, needs to bring in an interim Operations Manager for the operational management during a recruitment process.

The client is in an exciting transformation phase where they will transition from Cobol and MainFrame to more modern solutions within a 5-year plan.

Your Main Responsibilities

During the recruitment process, you will manage the daily operations. You will be responsible for personnel management of the operational IT team consisting of 8 employees of varying ages, some with relatively long tenure.

The role includes working on individual and group development and conducting employee performance reviews. You will have responsibility for the work environment and budget. The group is best led by a leader with energy and drive, but also someone who is attentive and has the ability to see the development potential in individuals.

The entire IT department at the client consists of 45-50 employees. The client operates on a 2-shift system, and it is required that the operations are running almost 100% of the time.

There is a high level of security, and this position is classified at security level 2. This means you will need to undergo and be approved in a security interview and background check.

The position also requires a lot of interaction with external suppliers and stakeholders.

Who Are You?

To be considered for the role, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • You have a relevant academic background.
  • You have several years of experience working as an operations manager in an IT mainframe environment, Cobol, and mainframe.
  • You have previously had personnel responsibility and led experienced employees.
  • You have experience with larger projects.

Meritorious:

  • If you have previous experience from the financial sector.

Personal Qualities:

  • You lead, motivate, and ensure that you achieve common goals.
  • You have experience leading teams of experienced employees and find it easy to create engagement and participation.
  • You have good judgment and make sound assessments and priorities.
  • You see the bigger picture and take into account the larger perspective.
  • You communicate clearly and ensure that messages are conveyed and expectations are clear for all parties involved.
