You will perform health and medical care interventions in close collaboration with health and medical care staff. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of tasks, and no day is the same. The work is during daytime.

If you are able to work both holiday periods, which includes eight weeks, you will receive an additional 10,000 SEK on top of your regular gross salary. The amount will be paid out after the summer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant/nursing student in home care and in care and nursing homes, you will make home visits to patients. You will work together with nurses and facilitate their assessment and planning. The tasks are usually performed independently but also in collaboration with a nurse.

Some examples of tasks:

• some medication management
• risk assessments for example falls, pressure injuries, malnutrition
• monitoring health status
• administering insulin/fragmin
• venous and capillary blood sampling
• blood pressure monitoring
• wound dressing
• catheter change and catheter flushing
• stoma care
• tube feeding

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a nursing assistant or studying to become a nurse and will have completed their third semester by summer. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a care and nursing home or with home health care.

We are looking for someone who wants a varied job. You will meet many different patients and colleagues, making no day the same. You are a problem solver who can quickly adapt and prioritize when circumstances change. Furthermore, you have an easy time collaborating and building trusting relationships with others, while also being comfortable working independently. We also appreciate strong commitment, responsibility, and reliability. You should also have good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.

If your grades are not already with us; please remember to attach documents according to one of the options below:

1. Grades from the nursing program for all completed semesters.
2. Professional certificate (protected professional title as a nursing assistant)
3. Employer certificate showing a permanent employment as a nursing assistant that was ongoing on 1/7 2023 including grades in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1.

A valid B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

OTHER

The employees of the Social Office provide care, support, and assistance to people throughout Skellefteå. They may be elderly, people with physical or mental disabilities, or individuals and families in need of special support for a period.

Our operations are located throughout the municipality, and we have specialists in several areas of care, support, nutrition, and activation for people with disabilities, addiction treatment, family counseling, and much more.
