Sylvamo Nymölla mill is located twenty kilometers east of Kristianstad in Bromölla municipality. The mill produces pulp using the Magnefite method and uncoated fine paper. Multicopy is our most well-known product. The production capacity is 340,000 tons of pulp and 475,000 tons of fine paper. Sylvamo is a global corporation with paper mills in Europe, the USA, and South America.

What do we offer you? We are now looking for a driven IT technician who wants to develop together with us at Sylvamo, Nymölla mill.

The IT department consists of an IT manager and five employees with a broad competence that spans infrastructure/network/firewall to hardware and software. The role offers an opportunity to delve into both unique and general IT technology.

Within the industrial area, one is guaranteed a close understanding of IT, and there are great opportunities to develop and strengthen the infrastructure with new technology that is not yet in place. The interplay between OT (Operations Technology) in the industrial world and traditional IT technology creates an exciting symbiosis with many new challenges for those who want to develop as IT technicians outside the traditional IT framework.

Sylvamo is a global organization and can therefore benefit from the collective strengths of the corporation, including a global IT organization. The OT part is handled by ATM (Automation), with whom the IT unit has a natural collaboration.

About the position

In the role of IT technician at Nymölla mill, you will have the entire mill as your workplace, and we work together with everything within networks, firewalls, cameras, sensors, workstations, servers (Windows/Unix/Linux), and OT technology. Collaboration and flexibility are key as you will be involved in developing solutions from start to finish and providing support to end users and project managers as well as the mill's various operations. Our primary customers are internal staff at all levels, which means you will be moving a lot within the operations as well as participating in large and small projects. Which area you want to specialize in and become an expert in is entirely up to you and us - here you can take initiative!

The unit aims to preserve and further develop a stable IT infrastructure and expand collaboration with the Automation department. Digitalization permeates all parts of the mill, and we are an important link in continuing that work forward.

Who are you? To succeed in the role, a personality that is curious, calm, and stress-resistant is required.

A genuine personal interest in the IT field is required, and you should find it exciting to work in an industrial environment with large machines, many OT installations, and daily problem-solving across operational boundaries. No day is like the other, something you certainly see as a bonus.

Your skills and experiences

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma in IT, technology, or automation. You should have extensive experience experimenting with various areas of IT. If you have post-secondary education in IT or other education that can be deemed equivalent, it is a merit.

You should have:

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in IT, technology, or automation
• Knowledge and experience in networking and virtualization
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing

Other

Working hours are during the day, and the position is full-time with placement according to agreement. We apply a probationary period. On-call duty is included in the position.
