Job Responsibilities

As an IT specialist, you will be responsible for strengthening and developing our IT infrastructure with a focus on both security and stability. Through technical project management and business development, you will drive digital initiatives that contribute to the preschool administration's overall goals. You will become a strategic key person in:

Planning, leading, and executing projects within IT and digitalization, with a particular focus on technical project management, cybersecurity, information security, AI, and GDPR.
Establishing and managing a cohesive, robust, and secure system environment, including integrating external systems and developing user-centered digital processes.
Acting as a technical “translator” between the needs of the organization and technical possibilities, in close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
Being a dialogue partner and involved in setting requirements towards suppliers and the central IT function of Malmö city, as well as capturing new initiatives that contribute to a modern, safe, and efficient IT environment.
Contributing to the development of benefit calculations during projects and implementations.

You will report to the unit manager for IT and digitalization and collaborate closely with colleagues within the unit as well as other parts of the administration and the city. In your role, you are expected to drive issues related to technical standards, regulations, and strategic guidelines within IT and digitalization.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

A relevant academic degree (at least bachelor's level, 180 credits) in IT, digitalization, or equivalent.
Several years of experience leading digitalization and business development projects with good results, preferably in the public sector.
Experience taking overall responsibility for digital system environments, where you have translated organizational needs into concrete IT solutions.
Solid knowledge in digital transformation, user-centered development, and strategic planning of IT infrastructure.
Experience and understanding of regulations, standards, and security issues related to cybersecurity, AI, GDPR, and information management.

Preferred qualifications include:

Training in process and/or project management.
Experience from larger and complex organizations, preferably in schools or preschools.
Having had responsibility for larger technical projects.
Experience in developing benefit calculations during projects and implementations within IT and digitalization.

About the Workplace

The preschool administration is one of Malmö's largest administrations, with approximately 4,600 employees who daily meet around 17,000 children and their guardians in our 200 preschools. As part of the IT and digitalization unit, you will be part of a competent team of about 10 employees with roles such as IT technicians, IT coordinators, and project managers. The department for quality and development, where the unit is included, is located in central Malmö and works in a flexible environment with both physical and digital meeting places.
