Preschool Substitutes Wanted at Lidingö City

Lidingö City has 20 municipal preschools. They differ in pedagogical focus, composition of child and staff groups, design of facilities, and work plans. What unites them is the mission to lay the foundation for lifelong learning, based on the Education Act and the preschool curriculum.

Lidingö City is continuously looking for preschool substitutes where the work may take place at one or more of the preschools. This can involve short substitutes for a few hours a day to longer substitutes full-time for one or several months. Working hours vary between 06:30 and 18:30 on weekdays without holidays.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a preschool substitute at one of our preschools, you will work together with and under the guidance of regular educators. You will participate in the activities/teaching that takes place while you are at the preschool and be engaged in the children's play and learning, contributing to a rich and meaningful everyday life for all children.

As a substitute, you are expected to be flexible and able to step in where needed with varying tasks and sometimes at short notice. We are primarily looking for someone who is available all or several days to work from November to May 2025 and beyond. You will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning through children's influence, participation, and desire to learn.

QUALIFICATIONS

Since you may be placed at different preschools during your service and we are constantly developing, it is required that you are flexible and can easily adapt to different situations. Previous experience working with children and/or in preschools is an advantage for the position. The work requires a good ability to express oneself well in spoken and written Swedish.

As a preschool substitute at our preschools, you are expected to have a good attitude and approach towards children and colleagues. You are relationship-building and focus on the children and their various needs. You should have a playful mindset to create playful situations with the children and inspire with new ideas. The city applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement. For the position, you must be at least 18 years old.

You must have taken note of the provisions of the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act. When you are registered as a substitute, you will sign a confidentiality agreement. You must have taken note of the information regarding the mandatory reporting obligation that, according to the Social Services Act, applies to all staff in preschool activities.
