Assistant Nurse/Caregiver for Neuropsychiatric Reception

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works for equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience. The Psychiatric Clinic has moved to a newly built facility where the care environment reflects the importance of the care setting in promoting health. The living and working environment is supported by modern technology and research, evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in electricity and heating.

We are looking for an assistant nurse/caregiver for the neuropsychiatric reception, which has three main teams: the ADHD team, the NPF team, and the assessment team. As a caregiver at the reception, you will have varied tasks and primarily work in one of the teams. We work in interdisciplinary teams and collaborate beyond team boundaries where necessary. The neuropsychiatric reception is a workplace in constant development, and as a caregiver with us, you will play an important role in participating in the development work to create a pleasant workplace with clear routines and treatment lines for the target group with neuropsychiatric disabilities. You will receive internal training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistant nurse/caregiver with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure. You work independently and schedule and meet individuals for phone visits, digital visits, and in-person visits. The conversations are often motivational. You make assessments and treatment of individuals' mental well-being from a health and holistic perspective. You assess the level of care. Consultation and collaboration in interdisciplinary teams together with doctors, caregivers, nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. QUALIFICATIONS

Assistant nurse education with a protected professional title is a requirement for permanent employment.

Proof of protected professional title for assistant nurses or an employer certificate that confirms you had permanent employment as an assistant nurse on July 1, 2023, in accordance with the transitional provisions (2021:739) in the Patient Safety Act (2010:659).

Approved nursing education as an assistant nurse/caregiver. Experience in psychiatric nursing work. Since there is a lot of telephone contact, great emphasis is placed on having good communication skills and language proficiency.

The work may include home visits, so a driver's license is required.

Great emphasis is placed on suitability.

Due to the law on suitability checks, an extract from the police criminal record must be presented upon employment.
