The dietitians in Primary Care, Region Västerbotten, are organized in a common county unit that operates towards the region's health centers and medical clinics with associated acute care departments. The work involves digital and physical visits as well as travel in the job.

As a newcomer to the organization, you will be part of a team based in Umeå and Skellefteå, and you will be offered mentorship from a dietitian colleague.

The dietitians in Primary Care have regular weekly meetings where there is an opportunity to discuss patient cases, work on development and improvement projects, and develop each other's competencies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We strive to ensure that the region can offer the population equitable high-quality nutritional care. You will have close collaboration with your dietitian colleagues, and we value each other's areas of interest.

As a dietitian, you will perform individualized nutritional assessments, treatments, and follow-ups. You will meet patients at all stages of life with varying diagnoses. The work also includes group treatment and staff training.

In primary care, you will primarily meet patients with malnutrition, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, and high cholesterol. The assignment includes acute care departments where you provide nutritional treatment in collaboration with other healthcare personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed dietitian with a degree from a dietitian program.

Experience working in primary care or other relevant healthcare environments is an advantage, but newly graduated dietitians are also welcome to apply. You have good communication skills and a professional approach, and can work independently as well as in a team. You have the ability to work based on evidence-based knowledge and tailor advice to individual needs. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.

A valid driver's license (category B) is required as travel is part of the job.

OTHER

The position is a temporary contract with a possibility of extension.
