The Building and Environmental Administration aims to enable a good living environment for residents, visitors, and businesses in a growing Halmstad. The organization is in a strong development phase regarding both service and as an important player in building a sustainable municipality. Our administration is responsible for, among other things, map supply, building permits, land surveying proceedings, environmental and health protection issues. Our ambitions are high. We are looking for an experienced communicator who wants to create value through their experience in long-term strategic and operational communication work. Your task is to develop the administration's communication efforts and collective ability to achieve a high level of trust in the administration's important activities. As a communicator, you will belong to a newly established unit for support and development, where all support functions are gathered, such as finance, system and business developers, energy and climate advisors, property issues, administration, and more.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that employees and residents encounter clear, target group-adapted, and accessible communication. Through your experience and commitment, you confidently drive the administration's communication work with proactivity and initiative. You enjoy working strategically from a holistic perspective combined with the communicative craft operationally. To succeed in the role, you find it easy to collaborate and have the ability to listen to others' perspectives.

You are accustomed to coaching managers and caseworkers in their communication work and are part of the administration's management group, where you provide important strategic and operational support. You contribute to environmental and target group analyses in the administration's strategic communication work. Based on your extensive experience, you provide good support to the administration's managers and employees in press and media handling as well as in crisis communication. In your role, you are responsible for transforming political decisions, goals, and strategies into value-creating communication. You are also responsible for the administration's web work, both on the intranet and the external web.

Collaboration with other areas of operation and administrations is an important part and is seen as a success factor in our common mission. You will be part of a municipality-wide network with other communicators and contribute to joint assignments within Halmstad municipality.

Qualifications

You who are applying have post-secondary education in media and communication, journalism, or equivalent experience deemed suitable by the employer. We see that you have several years of experience in general communication work in a larger organization, and it is an advantage if you have worked in a politically governed organization. You work effortlessly within all areas of communication, such as text production, web publishing, some layout work, and film production. You work and use relevant systems within the communication field such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and more. Furthermore, you are well-versed and have experience working with plain language as well as good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.

You have experience leading larger strategic communication initiatives linked to the organization's goals and business development, as well as experience in brand building and crisis communication.

You are structured, solution-oriented, and used to working broadly within the communication field. You thrive and are accustomed to handling the challenges of working in a complex organization. To succeed in the role, you need to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes within tight deadlines. Therefore, we place great value on personal suitability for this position.

A B driver's license is required.
