Engineer in Frequency Management

Job Responsibilities

As an engineer in frequency management, you play a central role in ensuring that the equipment delivered by FMV to the Armed Forces operates without teleconflicts. In this role, you collaborate with the Armed Forces to ensure that the need for frequencies can be met in relation to civilian needs. This includes drafting consultation responses, participating in meetings with other authorities and national bodies, as well as with international organizations such as ITU, CEPT, and NATO.

In your role, you also actively participate in national and international working groups within the frequency area. You contribute to supporting the Armed Forces in strategically planning and utilizing radio frequency spectrum. Furthermore, you conduct studies, investigations, and impact analyses related to decisions and plans within both national and international frequency management.

The position is based in Stockholm. Travel is required both domestically and internationally.

We are looking for someone who

You are a civil or university engineer in technical physics, electrical engineering, or have other relevant education or experience that we consider equivalent.

Furthermore, you have relevant experience in the technical field such as telecommunications, radio, radiocommunication, or equivalent areas that we assess as comparable. You also have experience in technical documentation and knowledge of frequency management or frequencies within the radio spectrum.

It is a plus if you have experience with military systems and if you have previously demonstrated business assessments. Experience in electromagnetic calculations (EMC), radiocommunication, and handling frequency management issues nationally and internationally is also meritorious.

Since there is a lot of contact with the Armed Forces and international organizations, it is essential that you have a good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written form, in Swedish as well as in English.

As a person, you are secure and stable while also having the interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions. It is also important that you have good collaboration skills while taking responsibility for your task and structuring your approach. We also see that you have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities where you weigh complex information and demonstrate good judgment in statements, actions, and decisions.

About Us

The area of responsibility for Command and Control Systems is tasked with procuring equipment and material systems for the Armed Forces' command support systems. Our main tasks include requirements specification, technical design, procurement, and system lifecycle planning of command systems.

The Spectral Environment unit within the Command and Control Systems area delivers and maintains expertise in areas such as Spectral Environment (EMC, electrical environment, countermeasures (RÖS), TEMPEST, frequency management) internally and to the Armed Forces.
