We are a geriatric rehabilitation department focusing on stroke, TIA, brain injuries, orthopedics, fractures, prosthetics, and patients who need medical investigation, care, and treatment. Job Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse, you will have a varied job where no two days are alike. It is exciting and inspiring to follow the patient's progress in rehabilitation and to provide good and professional care together with the team. Your other responsibilities include venipuncture, blood sugar checks, performing vital signs checks, EKG recording, and wound dressings. We are convinced that you as an employee are our greatest asset; it is important for us that you feel a sense of community and support.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• degree from the Health and Care program or vocational package in Health and Care from adult education
• proficient in the Swedish language in both spoken and written form

Meritorious:

• previous work experience in acute, internal medicine, and/or geriatric inpatient care

Personal qualities:

• good collaboration skills, a positive attitude, and being attentive
• ability to handle varying workloads and a diverse pace
• structured, driven, and flexible

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Information about the Job Title

As of July 1, 2023, assistant nurse is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse in health and care.

You can apply for the certificate starting July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care but with a different title than assistant nurse. For those offered a job with us at Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. Those who had a permanent position with the title assistant nurse when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, can continue to use the assistant nurse title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected job title to use the title assistant nurse.
