We are looking for someone who wants to work with our youth unit! Together, we are now moving forward and working together to create a social service that is modern, characterized by high quality, and in line with the new Social Services Act.

The Department of Children, Youth, and Family in Hägersten-Älvsjö consists of units such as reception, children, children and youth, youth, foster homes, and family support. Our department is led by an area manager and six unit managers. At the turn of the year, we carried out an important operational change that has brought the management even closer and more accessible. In the youth unit, we have an investigation group and a placement team. Each group has a team leader. The team leader leads our employees in their daily work. In the youth unit, we also have SIG coordinators and social workers at the police. This fall, we are also launching a new role, contract coordinator. The contract coordinator will provide operational support to the social workers when our youth are facing placement. We have a contract controller who ensures that we work with reputable actors. To get a good start in your new workplace, we place great emphasis on your introduction, and you will be supported by our competent mentors. The introduction is most intensive during your first year of employment. It is tailored to your experiences and needs for introduction to the profession and the workplace. It includes both individual support and method and process development in larger groups. You will have access to internal and external supervision and the opportunity to take part in the city's extensive training offerings. As a social worker, you will be offered training in Signs of Safety here with us.

We apply winter and summer working hours as well as flextime. You will receive a wellness grant of 3000 SEK per year and have the opportunity to apply for vacation exchange.

Your role

You will work in the youth group with investigation and follow-up of interventions according to the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act for children and young people aged 12-20 and their families. The work of a social worker is varied and significant. You conduct investigations according to the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act, and follow up on approved interventions. We work according to BBiC (Children's Needs in Focus) and Signs of Safety, with support from, among others, SAVRY, ADAD, and MI (motivational interviews). The work also involves close collaboration with both internal and external partners such as Future Stockholm, the police, schools, and BUP, among others. You will be part of a learning organization and have the opportunity to contribute to the proactive adaptation of the work approach we are creating in the long term to meet the future social services with early, preventive, and qualitative interventions for our target groups.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

A degree in social work
Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing
Experience as a social worker within the authority for children and young people

It is meritorious with:

Education and experience in working with Signs of Safety
Education and experience in risk assessment instruments SAVRY, ADAD, and Irisk

As a social worker, you need to be confident and stable, have a high level of personal maturity and good judgment. You need to have a good empathetic ability and be able to build good relationships with children, young people, and their families, as well as all the parties you collaborate with. You work both independently and systematically by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well. You work well with complex issues and can quickly analyze situations, solve problems, and make decisions. You can see opportunities, convey hope, and interact with people in a respectful manner.
