Your new job

We offer you the opportunity to meet our lovely students on Bäckadal's adapted high school's national vocational programs daily. Through your commitment, you inspire students to achieve good study results, and together with teacher colleagues and other staff at the school, you create environments that promote students' learning and personal development. You become an important part of Bäckadal's high school as a whole and collaborate with students, parents, teachers, school management, and other school staff in the school's development work.

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape a fantastic education for our students. You work to support students, in groups or individually, in their learning. Teachers are responsible for teaching, and you support in a receptive way and help the student progress. You work to help students achieve increasing independence. You will be part of a team of teachers and student assistants where you work together to help students reach their knowledge goals.

As a student assistant at Bäckadal's adapted high school, you will work with students who have an intellectual disability, usually in combination with one or more additional disabilities. Your mission is to contribute to a good learning environment where students can develop their abilities and strengths, both during the school day. In your professional role as a student assistant, you will work with both individual students and groups of students.

You will be part of a team consisting of different professions who work together on each student's individual knowledge development. You are expected to be familiar with the school's policy documents and contribute to a high level of goal achievement in the systematic quality work of the operation.

Your skills

We are looking for someone who is eager for development, actively collaborates with others to provide students with the best possible development. You need to be calm, development-oriented, mature, and very patient. Good at collaborating and focusing on the student's needs.

You need to have the ability to see students' different needs, take into account their individual circumstances, and enjoy challenges. You want to be involved in helping students grow and develop. You have experience in working with clarifying pedagogy, low-stress approach. In your role as a student assistant, you are a good role model for our students, and it is important that you have the ability to build good relationships with both students, parents, and colleagues. You are professional in your approach.

It is advantageous if you are trained as a treatment educator or have other pedagogical training or experience. We would like to see that you have some form of education that the employer deems relevant to the position. Knowledge and experience regarding intellectual disabilities, NPF, language disorders, and/or concentration difficulties are an advantage. Experience from adapted high school/primary school is advantageous.

The position is a fixed-term employment starting by agreement until 2025-06-20. There is a possibility of extension after this date.
