Job Description

As a school doctor, you are part of the school's student health team and work to promote the health and well-being of children and adolescents in the school environment. In student health, you collaborate with the school nurse, counselor, special educator, and special needs teacher. The tasks are varied and include both medical and preventive interventions.

• Health examinations and medical assessments, often in collaboration with the school nurse.
• Provide advice and support to students, guardians, or school staff on medical issues.
• Health care and preventive work, promoting a healthy environment.
• Support for students with special needs, such as investigating and following up on students with specific medical needs, disabilities, or chronic illnesses.
• Contact with external stakeholders, such as child and adolescent psychiatry, child and adolescent health services, primary care, or social services.

Qualifications

As a school doctor, you are a licensed physician and preferably have specialist competence in pediatrics or child and adolescent psychiatry. Previous experience in school doctor assignments is advantageous. You have knowledge of the school's operations, specifically the legal requirements for student health, and understand the relationship between health, learning, and the school environment.

You are genuinely interested in the well-being of children and adolescents and have good communication skills, allowing you to explain medical issues in a simple and understandable way. You can communicate clearly in Swedish.

You value collaboration among the different competencies in student health or with school staff. Problem-solving is a cornerstone of your work, where you identify and address issues. You have the ability to handle complex situations, such as in collaboration with guardians and social services.

You are skilled in administration and are accustomed to working in various systems. You have the ability to document and handle confidential information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The assignment is for 10-20%.
