Make a Difference. Every Day.

The specialized medicine department 2 in Helsingborg includes infectious medicine, pulmonary medicine, gastro medicine, diagnostic center, neurology and stroke care, as well as rheumatology. The pulmonary medicine section includes outpatient care and a ward shared with gastro medicine. Helsingborg Hospital has a very good collaborative climate and we have close cooperation with other medical departments, Intermediate Care Unit (IMA), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and emergency care unit. The pulmonary section currently has specialist physicians in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, as well as two specialist physicians in oncology specializing in lung cancer. The ward currently has 16 beds but will soon expand.

The operation is characterized by diversity and high competence, and we strive to integrate research and education into our activities. We actively work to create an organization focused on leadership, high quality, patient safety, work environment, and employee engagement. Our core values within the section are empathy, diversity, expertise in pulmonary medicine, and teamwork!

RESPONSIBILITIES

The demographic development leads to an increased need for specialist physicians in internal medicine who want to lead and develop care for internal medicine patients. Therefore, we are now looking to complement our medical team with a specialist physician in internal medicine, primarily placed in the ward for the care of patients with diseases in the internal medicine spectrum but also with a focus on pulmonary medicine.

In this role, you will daily care for a patient group of eight to twelve patients together with junior doctors at different training levels. Supervising our newer colleagues and medical students is part of your daily work, as well as close collaboration with other professionals. Teamwork in our department is a given. The role also includes work in our emergency care unit, adapted to your preferences, as well as some on-call duties.

Together with your colleagues, you will develop the content of care, and there are good opportunities for personal competence development. Our ambition is to conduct research in both non-malignant lung diseases and malignant lung diseases in the future. If you have research ambitions, it is very possible to combine clinical service with research.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you as a licensed physician with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare and with specialist competence in internal medicine. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is required for the position. We would prefer if you have a strong interest in and/or previous experience of working in pulmonary medicine. Since our patients may have different backgrounds, it is considered a merit if you speak languages other than Swedish. If you have a PhD, experience in teaching, and/or have conducted academic research, it is also seen as an advantage.

You have good communication skills in both speech and writing and are used to and enjoy working in a team. As a person, you are structured, take initiative, and we hope that you, just like us, enjoy challenges and are positive, seeing opportunities instead of obstacles. Personal suitability is of great importance.

In this recruitment, we work with ongoing selection. Warmly welcome with your application today!
