Your mission

As a nurse with us, you will be part of a skilled team where we support and help each other while also having the opportunity to develop your clinical eye and work independently. We have a close collaboration with other professionals, and you will be a key piece in both our work on the work environment and patient safety in the department. Here, you will face varied work with challenging tasks that give you a broad competence. As a nurse with us, you usually work in a four-care team day and evening, which means about six to seven patients per team. If you are an experienced nurse, there is also the opportunity to work at night.

Our operations

We have a large catchment area as one of six highly specialized neurosurgical clinics in Sweden, and we receive both planned and acute patients around the clock. The patients we care for have head bleeds, brain and spinal tumors, spinal cord injuries, vascular malformations, and hydrocephalus. The brain is the most important thing we have, the part that determines our body and who we are. The brain is a mystery we are constantly learning more about. It controls everything we do, or cannot do. Does that sound exciting? Come and be part of our fantastic team! Your qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse. Previous experience as a nurse is meritorious, but even if you are a newly graduated nurse, you are warmly welcome to apply.

Your skills

You are attentive and have an easy time communicating with colleagues, patients, and relatives. You are an outgoing person, resilient to stress, and able to juggle many tasks. You can work independently and in a team. You are interested in developing our operations where the patient is always the focus. You have the ability to prioritize and reprioritize your tasks as needed. Personal qualities are highly valued as the work requires flexibility and a positive attitude.

We offer

We offer you a permanent position at 100% with entry by agreement. We have an individual schedule with the opportunity for you to influence your work placement with us. You can work full- or part-time, with rotating shifts with or without nights. We offer individual training for about 5 weeks depending on previous experience.

As the Academic Hospital is a university hospital with a mission to provide healthcare and research, you also have the opportunity to participate in developing care for our patients. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will have the opportunity to participate in the Academic Hospital's clinical development year. This means that you will have the opportunity to work clinically in our department while deepening your knowledge and exchanging experiences with newly hired colleagues across the hospital's operational areas. The clinical training year is planned into your schedule and counts towards your working time. For experienced nurses, we at the neurosurgery department can offer you competence-enhancing university courses in neurosurgery.
