Who are we?

Kungsgårdsgymnasiet educates the entrepreneurs and innovators of the future. Our school consists of approximately 620 students distributed across the business program, crafts program, introductory programs, restaurant and food program, as well as adapted upper secondary school, where about 75 staff collaborate to ensure that all our students succeed.

The business program at Kungsgårdsgymnasiet, where you will primarily be placed, is located in central Norrköping at Södra Promenaden 83. The program has 340 students who are supported in their studies by about 30 dedicated staff members.

We are now looking for an engaged school librarian who wants to help build our school library operations at Kungsgård together with our students and staff.

Your Responsibilities

As a school librarian, you create an inspiring and accessible library service that ignites students' desire to read and learn. You are responsible for the library operations at Kungsgårdsgymnasiet, including tasks such as developing and maintaining the school library, media management, and selection and purchase of literature. You drive the school library and develop library services so that it becomes a natural part of students' education and a joyful place where students want to go.

You work as a pedagogical resource where you collaborate with the school's teachers both in the library and in the classroom, contributing to students' achievement of goals. You cooperate with student health services and teachers to integrate and adapt the library's resources according to students' needs, offering support and guidance to our students in their information searches and source criticism.

You develop and implement activities that spark curiosity and interest in literature, where you are involved in driving the school's various projects around reading development and contribute to broadening students' media and information literacy. You lead library councils, reading groups, book discussions, and other educational activities, collaborating with teachers on, for example, the graduation project.

You will be part of the team for the business program where you, together with all Kungsgårdsgymnasiet students and staff, plan and drive the library operations.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in library and information science or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. Previous experience working in a school library, as well as education with a pedagogical focus and prior teaching experience, is advantageous.

As a person, you are attentive and skilled at building good relationships with students as well as your colleagues. You enjoy working both in groups and independently, and you find it easy to plan and organize your tasks.

You have a good pedagogical insight and understanding of how students absorb information based on their circumstances and have insight into how to motivate and engage students in their studies.

You are confident speaking in front of both small and large groups and express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish.
