The platform is intended to serve as a hub for social community and as a guide to direct our visitors to new and existing arenas in the community. It will promote physical and intellectual activity and inspire and support visitors to start or continue living as independently and actively as possible.
We work closely with various organizations within Västerås City, associations, Region Västmanland, interest organizations, private actors, and civil society. We are facing exciting challenges where a new social services act and the transition to a more community-based care focus increasingly emphasizes preventive work. Preventive work will be a success factor, and therefore, there is currently an effort in the administration to develop our support and collaboration to enable the city's seniors to remain independent. In this exciting and challenging work, we need to collaborate with the surrounding community to succeed in the best way. You will be an important player in this work.
The City of Västerås has removed the personal letter from the application process. We do this to achieve a better and fairer recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will be an important part of our selection process.
Do you want to be part of starting a new platform where people meet to grow and co-create together for individual and collective development that makes a difference for our seniors? We are looking for an engaged and driven business developer who will help lead the startup and welcome the first visitors to our new meeting place hub for seniors.
Your Responsibilities
As a business developer at the meeting place, you will play a central role in starting up, staffing, and developing the operations forward in dialogue with seniors. Your work involves meeting seniors, guiding and supporting them in preparing for their future to continue living independently even if something changes in the future. Your contact with residents and your ability to build networks and create sustainable collaborations with civil society, the business community, and other relevant actors will be important. The idea is that the operations will develop continuously based on dialogues with seniors and various actors. You will work in an organization that evolves during a gradual opening of the operations.
You will work in and lead both strategic and operational issues and staff during the opening of the operations. Marketing the meeting place hub and its activities is an important part of the work, as well as continuously following up and documenting the results of the operations. You are the face of this hub and a driving force in ensuring it becomes a valued and inclusive resource that makes a difference for Västerås seniors.
You will be part of a preventive unit that is being established within the administration's area of home care and service houses.
Your Competence
You have experience in leading and driving development and change work within preventive activities for seniors, preferably in a leadership role. You are driven by the opportunity to create something new and to test and try new solutions to develop the operations for those we serve together with others. You are flexible and enjoy being part of creating something new where not all answers are available from the start. You enjoy meeting people and have a good ability to collaborate with others. You have knowledge of the laws that affect the operations and experience working in elderly care. You are self-sufficient in your role while considering the larger perspective. You create engagement and participation when coordinating groups to achieve common goals. You have innovative thinking and are skilled at adapting your way of conveying information and ensuring that the message gets through. Experience from preventive work and elderly care is a requirement.
We Offer
With us, you will be part of creating something unique from the beginning – together with others who are also passionate about making a difference for our seniors. There is great scope for driving development with participation, innovation, and new thinking.
We believe in trust and freedom under responsibility. This means you plan your workday yourself, have flexible hours, and the opportunity to work remotely for part of the time.
Here, you will be part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in both big and small matters. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, year-round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues throughout the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
