Youth House

The Youth House is a meeting place for young people in grades 7 - 9 where everyone should feel seen and safe. Our work is to promote the personal development of young people by bringing out, supporting, and developing their interests.

Job Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities are to work in the open activity together with your colleagues based on the common goals of the operation. You will handle planning, preparations, and implementation. In addition, documentation of the operation and some administration will be included. You may represent your workplace in various collaborations and networks.

The position also includes:

Working to strengthen young people's influence and community engagement.
Creating more meeting places, program points, and local events together with young people, as well as platforms where young people can make their voices heard.
Planning, preparing, implementing, and following up on activities together with colleagues and visitors.

Profile

You have post-secondary education as a leisure leader or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience working with young people is desirable.
You have the ability to create safety and promote young people's influence and participation.
You plan, execute, and follow up on activities together with colleagues and visitors.
You adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation, contributing enthusiasm and energy that promotes collaboration and motivation.
You maintain a high level of service and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others.

It is an advantage if you have experience working with children and youth, have an educational background as a leisure pedagogue or other pedagogical higher education. It is also an advantage if you speak Finnish.

As a person, you need to be proactive and self-driven. You must be able to collaborate with many different people while it is important that you take your own initiative and can work independently. You enjoy meeting many different people and find it easy to create new relationships in a professional manner. You are service-oriented and always have a good attitude towards those you meet in your work.

You have a driver's license (B).
