The Sami School is an educational form equivalent to primary school, offering education from preschool class to grade 6. The foundation for teaching is the Sami culture and the Sami language according to the curriculum for the Sami school. The Sami School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. Additionally, the Sami School Board has Sami preschools after agreements with the municipalities. The Sami School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sami School Board organizes distance education in the Sami languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sami education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a preschool assistant, you will contribute to driving, developing, and documenting the educational work in accordance with the preschool's curriculum and operational idea. Together with your colleagues, you will plan, document, implement, evaluate, reflect, and analyze based on the activities in relation to children's development and learning, as well as the Sami perspective, both individually and in teams. You will actively participate in developing successful learning environments alongside others at the preschool. You will also participate in other work at the preschool with the staff.

The preschool assistant participates in play, movement, and activities and assists during meals, dressing, and nap times. A large part of the activities takes place outdoors in the preschool's yard, both in winter and on bare ground. As a preschool assistant, you have supervisory responsibility for the children and must be able to move freely even outside the cleared paths. The preschool teacher has the pedagogical responsibility, but the preschool assistant is also involved in the pedagogical planning. Documentation and planning of various indoor and outdoor activities are important parts of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a trained preschool assistant or have other qualifications that the employer deems equivalent. You are proficient in Sami, both verbally and in writing. You are well acquainted with the Curriculum for Preschools. You enjoy being outdoors and using nature as a basis for children's learning. You have experience in pedagogical documentation and systematic quality work. You are positive and secure as a person. You can work independently and easily establish good relationships with children and adults. You see children as competent and resourceful individuals. You contribute to the preschool's value foundation work through a democratic approach that encourages influence and interaction. You see IT as a natural part of the work with children and as a tool in systematic quality work. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children who, for various reasons, need special support in their development.

You have a positive view of people and the ability to create good relationships as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts. You are meticulous, flexible, and attentive to the needs of children and enjoy working with children and youth. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with documented good collaboration skills.
