We are looking for personal assistants who want to work night shifts with a six-month-old boy with a tracheostomy in Luleå. As an assistant in this assignment, you will be offered a rewarding job with a curious and active boy. The family consists of the boy, his mother, father, and their French bulldog. They live in a villa where there are good conditions for a pleasant working environment for you as assistants. As an assistant, you will always work close to the boy - both at home and when the family goes on outings and trips. The boy's needs require supervision and assistance around the clock. Since he breathes through a tracheostomy tube, you will always work with another assistant to ensure that his breathing functions correctly. A central part of the job is to prevent blockages in the tube by regularly removing mucus/saliva with a suction catheter and providing mucus-dissolving inhalations. The boy also has a feeding tube in his stomach that he is fed with at times in addition to a bottle. Otherwise, he is a healthy and cheerful baby who enjoys playing, going for walks in a stroller, and sitting in laps.

Who are you as a candidate? We are looking for someone who has personal suitability for the assignment. For us, this means that you are responsible, caring, empathetic, and attentive. We see that you, as a candidate, are of course fond of children, as we believe this is a fundamental quality to thrive in this assignment. It is important that you are both punctual and can keep time but also flexible enough to sometimes step in to cover gaps in staffing. As a person, you enjoy taking initiative, both independently and in collaboration with others in a group. You have a natural sense of the meaning of working in someone else's home and respectfully acknowledge the home environment in your role as an assistant. 

Other requirements for you as an assistant in this assignment:

• You are a non-smoker.
• You have fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

The chemistry and interaction between you as an assistant, the client, and his relatives are crucial for the quality and experience of the work.

Novum as an employer ensures that you, as a new employee, receive paid theoretical and practical introduction to the tasks. Introduction and training will be provided by hospital staff with specialist competence in tracheostomy.

About the employment We initially apply the employment form of hourly employment, after which a permanent schedule may be offered after completed introduction (for a certain period as long as the assignment lasts). You will be offered a fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other compensation according to the collective agreement (Fremia-Kommunal: Personal Assistance). The assignment is expected to last for approximately 2-3 years as the boy is expected to outgrow his condition.

In connection with the employment, we will try to accommodate requests regarding working hours, but we will primarily prioritize those who can work part of or the entire employment degree at night, so that the boy can come home from the hospital.

The working hours are mainly scheduled from 22:00 to 08:00 but may vary by a few hours.
