Special Teacher for Adapted Primary School in Målilla

Målilla School is a F-6 school that includes both Primary School and Adapted Primary School. We are a single-parallel school with approximately 170 students. Målilla School has three after-school programs with about 80 children.

The school is divided into four working teams: F-3, 4-6, Adapted Primary School F-6, and after-school programs, and actively works for collaboration between the teams and school forms. We share student health services with other smaller schools in the municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone to work in the adapted primary school in Målilla, focusing on learning and development for students with intellectual disabilities and other variations in function.

As a teacher, you will be involved in both pedagogical and social contexts surrounding the students. You will support learning and create conditions for good social interactions. In your professional role, you are expected to collaborate with other professionals, authorities, and guardians with the student's best interests in focus.

You will be part of a team with both teachers and teaching assistants, where you will closely collaborate around students and teaching. You will constantly work to develop students based on their proximal development zone. Collaboration is a prerequisite and a given, both within the team in the adapted primary school and with other teams in the school and municipality. It is together with others that you help provide students with the best conditions for learning and development. And together we have fun!

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a qualified and licensed special teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. You need to have a high ability to collaborate as you work closely with various professionals such as teaching assistants and student health services. You see everyone's differences as an asset and are curious and creative in creating opportunities for learning and development for each individual student. You make conscious choices to enhance students' motivation and work with clear pedagogical methods. You are positive and creative, see opportunities rather than obstacles, and enjoy practical work. You take responsibility for the whole and see collegial learning and good relationships as a success factor in your mission.
