Prolympia Virserum is hiring an English teacher

Prolympia is Sweden's leading sports school at the compulsory school level, operating from Virserum in the south to Umeå in the north. Prolympia Virserum started in 2010 and is a F-9 institution with approximately 300 students and about forty employees. The school is centrally located in an idyllic, nature-friendly area just a stone's throw from Virserum Lake, close to libraries, youth centers, ice rinks, ski slopes, and sports facilities.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an engaged and innovative English teacher who is passionate about integrating an international perspective into teaching. You see the value in allowing students to encounter different cultures, communicate with peers around the world, and develop their linguistic and intercultural competence.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to participate in and develop the school's internationalization efforts and, together with colleagues, inspire our students to think globally and use English as a living language – both inside and outside the classroom.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a teacher, you will teach English at the middle and high school levels. In your daily work, you will plan lessons, prepare classes, and document students' development. You will actively work to stimulate all students to develop their skills and have the ability to adapt teaching to promote learning and good academic results. You will be part of a work team where you can daily exchange experiences, thoughts, and ideas that can improve your teaching and contribute to school development. In addition to teaching, you will also serve as a mentor for a class.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from a teacher education program with a teaching license and qualification to teach English. It is an advantage if you also have qualifications in another subject.

A background check regarding work in schools and preschools is required for employment.
