Psychologist at SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården receives non-compulsory school girls. We operate in Fjugesta, thirty kilometers west of Örebro, and are now planning to open a satellite unit in Granhult, thirty kilometers north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us because they have psychosocial issues as well as problems with crime or substance abuse.
Job Description
SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården will expand in 2025 and is now in the starting blocks to open a new satellite unit for non-compulsory school girls in Granhult. The Granhult unit plans to open a locked and an open department with a total capacity for eleven girls. We are now looking for a psychologist at 50% with the possibility of increased employment.
Do you want to help create the vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a psychologist at SiS is a meaningful challenge.
The psychologist's overall mission is to reduce the youth's risk of relapse into crime, substance abuse, and other antisocial behaviors by strengthening protective factors aimed at establishing an adaptation in society. The mission includes assessing the youth's care needs as early as possible. You will be part of a unit team together with the unit manager, group leader, and treatment secretary, where you contribute to the work with a psychological perspective.
You will spend part of your working time on psychological assessments and structured risk and needs assessments. Other individual-focused work includes individual treatment interventions, assessment interviews, and suicide risk assessments. The psychologist's role at SiS is consultative and educational through work with trauma-informed care (TIC), CBT, and suicide prevention, which also includes supervising staff. The tasks are varied with a great opportunity to structure and prioritize your work independently. The psychological work is interdisciplinary with the unit's various expert functions such as teachers, special educators, nurses, and other treatment staff.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Psychologist license
- Experience working with youth who have problematic behaviors
- Experience in staff supervision
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Good experience and appreciation for working in an interdisciplinary team
- Good knowledge of psychological assessment and evaluation
- Experience working with clients in locked environments and/or within psychiatry
- Driver's license (B)
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people, are humble, and find it easy to collaborate with others. You are proactive and used to taking responsibility for, planning, and delineating your work. You also have the ability to create professional relationships, security, and stability. You are motivated to help youth in a vulnerable life situation and share SiS's values of being a place for change.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that you as an employee take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee relations.
