About the Organization

In Haninge municipality, we want to increase residents' participation and influence in society.

For Haninge Library, this means we need to include residents of all ages in our activities.

The municipality offers public libraries in Handen, Jordbro, Västerhaninge, and a smaller library on Ornö. In Brandbergen and Vega, there are integrated public and school libraries, and the municipality's book bus visits the public and institutions in various parts of Haninge.

The libraries in Haninge are undergoing a transformation process in 2025, aiming to reach more residents through new working methods, increased accessibility, and participation.

Your Mission

The work in this librarian position focuses on teens and young adults.

We are exploring forms for ongoing work with the target group of teens and young adults, and we hope that you have experience working with these groups and can contribute to the ongoing transformation efforts.

You will lead literary and reading-promoting activities for the target group.

Have specific media responsibility for young people and young adults.

You actively contribute to the planning and implementation of the library's activities for children and youth in general.

External service at the information desk, check-ins and check-outs, printing, and other lending desk work.

Recurring administrative tasks.

The position includes daytime, evening, and weekend work according to a schedule.

Your Qualifications and Skills

• You have a university degree in library and information science or another education we consider equivalent for the position.
• You are familiar with the library law and its content.
• Previous work as a youth librarian, at public, school, or high school libraries is an experience you should have.
• If you have participated in the transformation or design of youth activities within the library sector, it is an asset as the library undergoes both renovation and transformation work.
• You have good social skills and enjoy working both independently and collaboratively.
• Perhaps you already have experience participating in projects with various stakeholders?
• You can plan and organize tasks based on your assignment.
• Good digital skills are a prerequisite.
• You enjoy working with people and find it exciting to contribute to the growth and development of young people.
• You understand what it means to work in a politically governed organization.
• If you have other language skills besides Swedish and English, we see it as an advantage.

We place great importance on personal qualities.

Additional Information

Some evening work occurs, with recurring weekend work.

A driver's license may be an asset.
