About us

The Information Management Unit is a central function in the municipality that supports all committees, boards, and offices in the municipality's systematic information management work. The unit consists of document controllers and archivists and is led by a unit manager. The Information Unit is organizationally placed under the Department of Citizen Services and Secretariat, which includes the Information Management Unit, Väsby Direkt, and the Committee Administration Unit.

About the position

As an archivist, you have a key role in the municipality's information management. You will work both strategically and operationally. You will manage the archival authority's e-archive. Your responsibilities also include conducting preservation and disposal investigations, developing and managing municipality-wide governing documents, handling requests for the archival authority's public documents, confidentiality assessments, and organizing and cataloging archival documents. You will provide support to offices in their work, such as with handling instructions, archive descriptions, and system documentation. You will conduct training, receive archival documents, and perform oversight. You will participate in development work related to information management. During certain periods, you will lead projects. You will report to the unit manager.

The work is varied and stimulating and involves many contacts with, among others, case handlers in the offices, IT, citizens, and the e-archive supplier. This position is classified in a security class, which means that a security assessment will be conducted prior to employment in accordance with the Security Protection Act. A 6-month probationary period may be applied.

Are you the one we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who has:

  • several years of experience as an archivist with similar responsibilities.
  • university or college education in archival science or equivalent.
  • experience with or interest in managing e-archives as final archives.
  • basic IT knowledge and good knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in the public sector.
  • basic knowledge of digital preservation, e-archives, and FGS package structure or equivalent.
  • experience in development work within information management.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • a university or college education in systems science.
  • experience as an archivist in municipal operations.
  • experience in project management.
  • experience working in a central function in a large organization and collaborating with registrars/document controllers.
  • experience in developing business-based information reporting that includes classification structures.

Personal qualities required for the position include being meticulous, attentive, and structured. You also need to be service-oriented, communicative, self-driven, and have good collaboration skills. You thrive in a varied role and have the ability to handle stress. You should be accustomed to organizing your work efficiently and clearly while being goal-oriented.
