Do you want to help build a school library that meets the new legal requirements – and at the same time become a key person in our work with reading, language development (SKUA), and equitable teaching? Then we would love to meet you!

Söraskolan is a F–9 school in Åkersberga with about 500 students. We are a developing school that works purposefully to strengthen the quality of teaching, raise goal achievement, and create a safe, inclusive learning environment. We are now looking for a qualified school librarian who wants to drive our library operations forward – and make a difference for both students and teachers.

Your new job

We are looking for you who want to help build a staffed school library that:

• Meets the new requirements in the Education Act for accessible school libraries with professional competence
• Integrates into teaching and supports teachers' work, especially in reading and language and knowledge-developing methods (SKUA)
• Promotes students' reading enthusiasm through activities, book talks, thematic work, and initiatives such as reading breaks and Nobel Week
• Strengthens students' media and information literacy (MIK), source criticism, and digital skills

Your profile

• Are a qualified librarian – this is a requirement for the position
• Have a strong commitment to promoting reading and language development
• Have experience or a strong interest in working in a school environment, in close collaboration with educators
• Have good digital competence and a norm-conscious, inclusive approach
• Enjoy working both independently and in collaboration with the school's other staff
