Do you feel like you really want to work with something else? Are you very interested in social issues? Do you long to make a difference, for real? Then there may be a future for you at Radio Romano. And you do not need to have journalistic experience. However, we would like you to be able to speak and write in Romani chib/language. If that sounds exciting, apply for our journalism training. The program starts in the fall of 2025.
A tailored education both on-site and remotely.
We are looking for you who have a great interest in free speech, social issues, media, and digital opportunities. Who wants to make a difference, for real, and give voice to more voices to create greater understanding in a changing world. In the nine-month long training, you will get to:
- Learn the journalistic craft from the ground up
- Produce your own news segments
- Receive guidance from some of the country's best journalists
- Work with and develop the power of sound to create engaging content
- Be part of a creative and inspiring editorial team
The training is paid and will mainly take place in an editorial office combined with distance education and self-study in social studies, interview techniques, and press ethics.
We who work at Sveriges Radio/Radio Romano know what it is like to grow up in Sweden with different cultures and languages (Romani chib, Swedish, and many more) and are passionate about highlighting strong stories from a minority perspective even for the majority population. We hope you feel the same!
Exciting? Absolutely. Challenging? Of course. Fun? Without a doubt.
We are looking for you who have:
- A strong interest in social issues, culture, and news
- At least a high school education, post-secondary education is an advantage

- Enjoy communicating and telling stories
- Proficiency in Swedish at a working language level; other language skills can be an advantage
- Support for public service and our mission
- Other education than journalism
- A driver's license

About Sveriges Radio
The mission of Sveriges Radio is to broadcast radio in the public interest, and we have 7.4 million listeners each week. More than half of the population engages with our offerings in some form every day. Either in live linear radio or on-demand, in FM, on our own digital platforms, or with other providers. Our mission is also to give voice to more voices and stronger stories for greater understanding. Therefore, we also have an active focus on diversity and inclusion, both in how we work internally and in the perspectives we convey.
When you step into Sveriges Radio, you immediately become a representative of an important social mission: to be a cornerstone in a well-functioning democracy. We are also a significant part of the Swedish total defense. All of this places slightly higher demands on us who work here compared to our competitors. We simply have to be a little better. But we are a knowledge house with a long history of not waiting for others to do something. We are used to leading. And that leaves its mark on those who work here. Soon you too, we hope.
